It’s back to school season, and that means we will be seeing school buses on the road. Below we outline school bus passing laws in Missouri.
When red lights are activated:
- 2 lane road: all drivers must STOP.
- 2 lane and a turn lane (3 lanes): all drivers must STOP.
- 4+ lane road: all drivers going the same direction with the bus must STOP, drivers travelling opposite direction of bus should KEEP DRIVING.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over the past 10 years 44 children and teens in the U.S. were killed in school zones travelling to or from school.
